Chapter 4: The Family Meeting

One week later, every member of the Whitmore family gathered inside the headquarters.

Nobody knew why.

Nobody except me.

The boardroom looked like a battlefield.

My uncle sat at the far end.

Out on bail.

Confident.

Smug.

Untouchable.

Exactly as always.

Then I walked in.

The room fell silent.

Leonard smirked.

"You look better."

I smiled.

"So do you."

The board chairman stood.

"Let's begin."

I connected my laptop.

The projector came alive.

Immediately, Leonard stopped smiling.

Because he recognized the files.

The bank records.

The police reports.

The photographs.

Then came the video.

Security footage hidden for twenty years.

Recovered from an old storage archive.

Nobody breathed.

The footage showed Leonard meeting with two men.

One of them was a mechanic.

The other was my father's business partner.

Money changed hands.

Then Leonard said five words.

Five words that destroyed him.

"Make sure the brakes fail."

The room exploded.

Board members jumped from their seats.

Executives shouted.

Family members cried.

Leonard looked like he might faint.

Then came the final surprise.

The second man in the video stepped into the room.

Alive.

Eighty years old.

Protected witness.

May you like

And ready to testify.

Leonard's empire collapsed in less than ten minutes.
