Chapter 2: The Monster Unveiled

I rushed to Lily and gently helped her stand. Her knees were bleeding badly from the durian shells. Her once-neat uniform hung in rags, covered in blood and tears.

“Dad…” she whispered, collapsing into my arms. “She’s been doing this for months. She said if I told you, she’d make it worse.”

Victoria tried to compose herself, forcing a sweet smile. “It was just discipline, honey. Lily’s been so rebellious lately. Teenagers need a firm hand.”

“Discipline?” I roared. “You whipped my daughter until her clothes were torn to pieces and forced her to kneel on durian shells?!”

Victoria’s mask slipped. “She’s spoiled! Always crying about her dead mother. I’m trying to make her strong for this family!”

I looked at the woman I had married after losing my first wife. The woman I thought would be good to my daughter.

“You’re a monster.”

Victoria’s eyes turned venomous. “You’ll never prove anything. It’s my word against hers. And if you divorce me, I’ll take half of everything. The prenup favors me.”

I held Lily tighter, who was shaking violently. “Get the hell out of my house.”

She laughed. “Make me. I have photos of her bruises. I’ll say you did it.”

Lily suddenly whispered through her tears, “Dad… there are videos. She records everything… to watch later for fun.”
