PART 4: THE WILL THAT WAS NEVER SHOWN

We moved down into the hidden room.

It wasn’t a bunker.

It was an archive.

Files.

Contracts.

Old photographs.

And one sealed envelope labeled in my father’s handwriting.

“Elena,” I whispered. “You knew about this.”

“I suspected,” she said. “I confirmed it after I started working here.”

My fingers opened the envelope.

Inside was a will.

But not mine.

Not Marcus’s.

Another name was listed as primary heir.

A name I had never seen in my life.

Marcus appeared behind us at the bottom of the stairs.

No panic.

Just calm acceptance.

“You found it,” he said.

I turned slowly.

“What is this?”

Marcus exhaled.

“This is the real inheritance structure.”

“Your father didn’t divide power equally.”

“He hid the true successor.”

I stared at him.

“And you knew?”

“I found out two years ago.”

My voice hardened.

“And you decided to destroy me instead of telling me?”

Marcus laughed once.

“No.”

“I decided to replace you because that’s what the system was built for.”

Elena stepped forward.

“That’s not the full truth.”

Marcus turned to her.

“Careful.”

Elena didn’t back down.

“The will wasn’t just hidden. It was rewritten.”

My head snapped up.

“What?”

She pointed at the document.

“Your father didn’t authorize this version.”

“Someone else did.”

Silence hit the room.

Marcus went still.

For the first time.

Elena continued.

“And the person who benefited from the rewrite…”

“…is still alive.”

I felt something cold settle in my chest.

“Who?”

May you like

Elena looked at me.

“The first heir your father ever chose.”
