The entire café fell silent.
Daniel couldn't breathe.
"No..."
The waitress looked confused.
"Sir, are you okay?"
The voice.
Even the voice sounded familiar.
Lily grabbed his arm.
"Daddy, that's Mommy."
The woman walked closer.
"Do I know you?"
Daniel stared at her.
Every detail was the same.
The eyes.
The smile.
The tiny scar above her eyebrow.
Impossible.
"My wife..."
His voice cracked.
"My wife looked exactly like you."
The woman frowned.
"I'm sorry. I think you're mistaken."
Daniel pulled out his wallet.
With shaking hands, he showed an old photo.
The waitress looked at it.
Her face went white.
"Oh my God..."
"What is it?" Daniel asked.
The woman touched the picture.
The same way Emma used to.
"I..."
She swallowed hard.
"I've seen this woman before."
Daniel's heart pounded.
"Where?"
The waitress looked directly into his eyes.
"In my dreams."
Before Daniel could speak again, the café manager rushed over.
"Claire! We need you in the back."
The waitress hesitated.
Then she whispered:
"Meet me tomorrow morning. There's something you need to know."
